Is not clear why the White House would start such a petition, but the author of the article considers it to be "snotty" It's really a very good idea. Most of the rest the world it and using feet and inches is not only inconvenient but it makes US products less competitive. It would certainly take a long time to phase out the use of the English system, but now is the time to start.
